I've created sketchup plugin to create construction lines on square faces.  I'd love for you guys to check it out and let me know what you think.  All you have to do is put this .rb file in the C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins directory.  You can go to my blog,http://fixintofixit.blogspot.com if you want to see a couple of pictures of how this works. 

 

The message board won't let me upload a file with a .rb extention, so I added .txt.  The file needs to be called mesh.rb in the Plugins directory.

Interesting plugin idea. Congratulations.

For what do you use it? I assume these are guidelines that are being drawn?

I've got a couple of New Yankee Workshop books and some of  the pieces are on a grid.  So I created this for a quick way to replicate drawings.  I'm looking for more ideas for addons and plugins if you have any requests.

Ah. I see. I draw the sorts of things differently so I don't need a regular grid for that but I bet some folks will find it useful. Thanks for writing it.

As to other plugins, I'll think on it. I have a lot more than I need now but maybe something will come up.
