chuck on drill stand
i have a chuck which i have great trouble keeping on the mandrel of my drill . its O.K. for awhile but any vibration and it drops off sometimes with disastrous results . any answers pls .

WIth the jaws retracted into the chuck, you can tap on the bottom of the chuck with a brass hammer and secure it into place. If you don't have a brass hammer you could try placing a block of wood between the chuck and the hammer.
I neither of those work, I have slid my chuck into place by hand then pulled down on the lever with the chuck then secured against my table or a block of wood. You may have to pull on the lever with some good force to get it to stay, but it has worked for me.
