What glue to use? (post #169786)

I am going to bury two rare earth magnets in the case and the door of a cabinet I recently finished to act as a door catch. I then plan to cover each with a thin piece of leather. I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion what type of glue I should use to attach the magnets securely to the wood? The rare earth magnets are very strong.

I think . . . (post #169786, reply #1 of 4)
. . . I'd use CA glue (super glue).

Thanks Ralph. I'll experiment. I'm assuming you meant Super Glue as opposed to Crazy Glue?
Here's how I do it. (post #169786, reply #2 of 4)
Since I don't like magnets or metal showing... use a forstner bit to drill a hole the proper diameter resessed deep enough to submerge the magenet. (being very mindful of the polarity) put the maget in the recess and glue a plug in over it and sand flush. I repeate on the door with an opposite polarity magnet and nothing shows. You could use a metal plate or cup, but its not necessary. However if you screw up and put both poles the same you will not be able to close it to save your life. Good joke but not for a paying customer. I suggest a sharpie with a + on one side and a - on the other. Have a good one.

I immediately got a mental picture of workers in a Chinese furniture factory having a good laugh over the suggestion of doing this.
