Pfeil Chisels - want to purchase (post #167661)
dlb on Fri, 06/17/2011 - 18:25 (updated 06/18/11 - 06:39)
All,
My son will be going to Switzerland in a couple of weeks and I am hoping that he can purchase some carving chisels for me. Does anyone know if Pfeils can be purchased there? If so, can you provide the name (& address, or link, if possible) of an outlet or store?
Thanks,
dlb

This is a link to a German (post #167661, reply #1 of 2)
This is a link to a German webshop. If you order directly you will not pay the German sales tax and are probably better of.
If you purchase in the EU or Switzerland you pay a high sales tax, which proablably can be refunded but you will have to follow the correct procedures.

Pheil purchase (post #167661, reply #2 of 2)
It really wouldn't surprise me if you wouldn't be just as well off to go to Woodcraft (only Pheil remaining distributor that I know of in USA) and purchase what you want. With the trouble for him to get them back through customs and duty to pay etc.
You may be able to avoid the tax if you order them for Woodcraft via their internet store, depends on the state you live in.
All in all if you save anything with dollar devaluation, duty trouble for your son etc taken into account is it really worth it?
