I am considering buying a large bowl lathe and trying to get info on the Vega 24 inch bench top lathe and their 26 inch bowl lathe.

I find little info in terms of their quality or any reviews.  I would welcome any info anyone can give me especially from anyone that has one of these lathes

This about the older model 24" which is now a 26" I have been considering the benchtop 24"  I already have a 2 HP Baldor motor & Variable Frequency Drive so wouldn't need the 1 HP motor. I also know how to weld to build a nice stand.

 

Price is part of the deal but also I wouldn't turn anything over 24".
 Some people think the bigger is better  thats only true in art work other than that where do you store a big bowl when not in use ?
