adze problem

I've been carving for 10 years and have never figured out why when adzing sugar pine using a say 7/14 swissmade gouge chisel that is as sharp as it can be, That I get tear out at the end of cuts at certain points of the wood stock. Other points in the stock carve just fine. But some do not. Anybody have a resolve for this? Thanks
