Small lathe power problems (post #169665)

Hello everyone! need some help!
I have a small mini lathe with a variable speed motor. Similar to the small jet but this is branded by an Austrian company. Chinese made. After about two years of use, the lathe stops often on scraper cuts, bowl gouge cuts and sometmes just on it's own. pushing the start does not always engage, and repeated pushing on the start sometimes engages and I can turn for a while. I don't think it's an overload issue as it stops at different times and with different pressure. Any ideas what could be wrong? I opens the dc control box, all looks normal. not sure if the magnetic contact on the on switch just drops. if so, can I rewire with a normal on off switch?
Thanks for your thoughts!
Jim

lathe issues (post #169665, reply #1 of 1)
Try and blow out the motor with compressed air as dust may be a cause of the problems. A loos wire is what it sounds like to me or brushed if it has them.
