pancake compressor
i am most definitely a newbee to woodworking. i now have a workshop in my garage and am wondering about my small compressor. i hate the sound it makes as it "boots" every morning that i'm out there.
my question is: does it hurt or shorten the life of the compressor in any way to leave it on continually? it's much more convenient to do that, but i don't want to shorten its life by doing so.
thanks for any feedback i can get from you guys.

dbouch , If there are no leaks in your lines or fittings there is no reason you can't leave it on, the life will be effected by how many times it cycles for the most part .

Draining the tank regularly (post #168766, reply #3 of 3)
Draining the tank regularly will prolong the life of the tank. Leaning the compressor on all the time might make it harder to remember to drain regularly than if you only plug it in on days you use it, and drain at the end of the day.
