Can you Identify this Box?
Posting for a friend - he'd like to know what this is for.
There are fourteen Y-shaped pieces with white plastic or ivory on top, with a slot as if for a wire.
The two corner pieces have that same white on their corners.
The metal pieces on the bottom of the corner (quarter?) pieces do not turn.
Hope you can help! :)

I'm thinking they may be bridges to tune a western hammered dalcimer to Asian tuning.
