Table saw needed A fence
Table saw needed A fence (post #164856)
for a Job-site saw. I have a Dewalt 10" Jobsite saw in the shop. It needed a little bit better fence than what came with the saw. So, three pieces of scrap, a few screws, and a couple of "C" clamps later, there is now a SQUARE, SOLID fence on board. Price? Not much, just some stuff laying around the shop. I use a "factory" corner on a piece of 1/2" plywood, and made a triangle piece long enough to get past the blade. I made a cleat out of Oak scarp, sized to go between the plywood, and the rail for the old fence. I laid the plywood along a miter slot, slid the cleat under the back edge of the plywood. Once everything was lined up, and square, a couple of screws went through the plywood, and into the cleat.
Next, I flipped this assembly over, and used a straight piece of 1x2 scrap. This 1x was screwed to the plywood , using the factory edge as a guide. Flipped the assembly back over, clamped it in place, and test-cut a piece of scrap. It works.
