Need help with a Moulson Brothers Plane
OK, I found a new baby to bring home this weekend. Picture attached. This is a big plane, 31" long. Iron is 2 3/8 wide, about 3/16ths thick. Marked Moulson Brothers.
Given the age and where I found it, the sole is super flat. It's in really good condition. So, my basic questions are:
Does anyone know where I can get more info on the maker? I'd like to get a sense of the age of the plane.
Any idea of value? I'd like to use it, but if it's super-rare, maybe I shouldn't.
Thanks!

It looks like a craftsman-made plane with an old iron. It's hard to say how old it may be but it's unlikely that it's very old.
I would agree with lwilliams. (post #168636, reply #2 of 2)
I would agree with lwilliams. looks like an old iron in a recent craftsman made plane. Put it to work. It never hurts to ask about the value of a tool but most aren't as valuable, money wise, as some newer planes.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
