Hi
We have recently inherited over 20 hand tools by lie Nielsen from my uncle who was a huge
Collector and great carpenter. They are unused in mint condition we would be looking to sell as we have no use for them and feel that we would love someone to really appreciate the quality of these fine hand tools.
Does any one have any ideas on how we would sell them?

Lie-Nielsen tools (post #169783, reply #1 of 3)
Hello Andy,
More than likley, you will get the highest price for them on Ebay. That said, I never buy Lie-Nielsen tools from Ebay because I don;t want to pay nearly new pirces for any pre-owned tool, no matter what the condition. If your objective is, as you said, to get them in the hand of someone who can appreciate them and will use them, then I would suggest that you price then reasonably and offer them to this community. List them along with the prices in the For Sale section.

I'll give you $20 for the lot. ;-)
Lie Nielsen tools are well regarded, so you'll want to do a little research on the Lie Nielsen Web site to determine model numbers and "new" prices for what you have. Then, it becomes a question of whether to attempt to sell them on dBay, the classified section here, or via some other venue. Used tools in good to excellent condition usually fetch 50% or less of the new price, but gently-used Lie Nielsen tools might fetch close to new prices.

You will get the most by selling them individually on e-bay. Include pictures and you will get close to the retail price on most of the items. If you try and sell them as a collection you will get a smaller amount. Good luck and sorry for your loss.
