I propose using Antique Cherry Aniline dye to create the Stickley look that Greg Paolini has in his Bow Arm Morris Chair video project.
When it comes to finishing the chair he talks of applying this dye, which is fine and then says that over it he has applyed “oil based pigment stain’.
My query is, does anyone know what coloured ‘oil based pigment stain’ he has used? and failing that can anyone offer me any advise as to what I can use over the top of that dye to retain that old world oaky look.
Many thanks

Fume it with ammonia
I believe the origonal pieces were done this way. Easier than stains as well.
Is there something missing here?
