Has Blogging Increased Potential Customer Visits or Sales? (post #167551)

Blogging is regularly touted as a way to become more profitable in business. In certain businesses I would certainly expect blogs to hve the potential to increase profits. With woodworking however I've always wondered if potential customers of fine custom furntiure (in my case) would search the internet and look at woodworking blogs as part of their comparison shopping. Some woodworking blogs have beome well known - one I've seen mentioned more than once is the Wood Whisperer - but I wonder if it is popular with more than practicing and aspiring woodworkers.
Has anyone actively blogged for a while and identified a resulting increase in sales?
