I live in a old 1875 stone (post #148051, reply #1 of 6)

I live in a old 1875 stone home & for bug control we have these cute little flying mice that flap around at dusk eating bugs , i hear they are called bats

there are dozens of them in the eves of the house

up until recently i had a bunch of squirrels in the attic who at night sounded like they were having a olympic hocky game nightly , hardware cloth ended the game

I have found a good mouser cat works better than the electronic systems but we have both

we had a problem with coons in the barn last year but things got better after i lie trapped a total of 14 of them , must of been a tribe , god bless marshmellows & peanut butter

had acustomer ask me to get rid of some coons that got into his attic & i managed to catch 12  plus a couple of skunks at which point things got interesting !

wild life can be interesting to deal with sometimes !

How are ya with gofers ? (post #148051, reply #3 of 6)

Queenmasteroftheuniverseandbabybunnytrainer has been doing battle with a  Pocket gofer.

She can't seem to train him.  Well she trained him to ignore about sixty dollars worth of gofer go away sprinkles that she put on the lawn all summer.  I think he was pretty good at ignoring it without her training though.  We are a live trap sort of out fit here but I just have a mouse catcher.   After seeing what she went through I keep hoping the mountain lion will make a late night snack of the gofer but not really.  We keep saying "we don't understand why, with a few acres of park land just on the other side of the barbwire fence, he has to come into our yard and reck our postage stamp of a lawn.

She goes out and fills  in the holes.  I have suggested she practice her golf swing when he pokes his head up but then she just looks at me like "So, where are You living next week ?"

Do you need a pet gofer ?  Very industrious.  Good worker.  Good lawn aerator ! ! !  Our lawn has about all the aeration it needs now though.

"Rats are one type of pest we (post #148051, reply #2 of 6)

"Rats are one type of pest we try to get rid of"

If you are struggling with a 'rat problem' try a Rat Zapper. This device. powered by 4 D-cells, elctrocutes them. It got rid of my excess of Chipmunks; does not require messy food-bait. Google or their phone number will reach them.

Dead trap (post #148051, reply #5 of 6)

We got one, worked for a few days and then died.  Unfortunately, it was too late to return it to Ace.

No bug-zappers in my house! (post #148051, reply #4 of 6)

I seem to recollect that the electronic flying-bug zappers kill far, far, more beneficial and neutral bugs than nuisance bugs.  I won't have one, nosirreebob.

ha, ha I remember my first encounter (post #148051, reply #6 of 6)

with bug zappers.  I was riding across town on my bicycle and I kept hearing people "welding" in their yard or garage as I was riding along.  I thought  "Could there really be so many welders in this town ?  All working on one night ? "

I am a dummmmmmb bunny.   ha, ha ha, ha
