Hardware for "Anatomy of a Bed"

tenderfootbob's picture

Inspired by Jeff Miller's article "Anatomy of a Bed" (FW #175), I am building a king-size bed for a friend. The article unfortunately doesn't mention the author's sources for the bed hardware (bed rail brackets, bed bolts and barrel nuts). Does anyone know the source(s)? Thanks for any help.

Lee Valley and Woodcraft have them.  I think Rockler does too.

Thanks Jim. I should have looked the catalogs, all of which I have.

Bob,

Good luck with it.  Please post a picture when it's done.

MANY out there to choose from.. I used some 7 inch long HEX Head bolts and nuts I found at someplace..  The size of nuts were more iMportant to me than the bolts~,,

Have a great day.. Life is wonderful even if you are having a bad day!

I just made a bed at a Kelly Mehler class. Most folks got their hardware from Horten Brasses. High quality, low shipping rates, fast.
