Belt Sanding belts-- 4x52
*
Does anyone know where to find sanding belts that are 4 inch by 50-53 inch long? This is for an old Walker Turner belt/disk sander of unknown vintage. It doesn't seem like Norton or 3M have part numbers for something like this.

Econ-Abrasives makes custom belts and they're very reasonably priced. You'll find the price of their belts less than your local hardware supplier pays wholesale--and they're first quality belts.
Econ-Abrasives has advertised in
i Fine Woodworking
for years and is one of the best suppliers I've located through the magazine. They don't have a web site that I know of but their phone number is

Walker Turner belt/disk sander (post #89653, reply #2 of 2)
Mark,
did you ever find an answer to your question about the old Walker Turner sander? I think I may have the same machine myself. I inherited it from my Dad so it's likely older than I am. What I'm curious about is the adjustment mechanism. If you've been successful in finding a belt and installing it correctly on the machine, would you be willing to take a photo of the adjustment mechanism to show me how it looks in working condition? My Dad had a tendency to jury-rig a lot of his equipment and somehow, I wonder if this one has been modified from it's original condition.
