Can someone help me find some drawings for a multi-drawer chest (say 25 to 100 drawers) as a fine piece of furniture?

Several Shaker pieces, for their herb and medicine trade, had dozens of drawers, should be just what you need.

There are many good Shaker reference books, but I don't know if any of them have measured drawings of the type of chest you are interested in.  Most of the books will give you overall dimensions of the pieces though and you should be able to work out the detailed dimensions from there.

Chris Becksvoort's book "The Shaker Legacy" shows several chests with ranks of small drawers.  The largest chest is 78 inches tall and 42 inches wide and holds 48 drawers.

Thanks John.  Have built many Shaker pieces and will look for what I want in that style.  Incidently, your magazine is the best and I look forward to each issue for years past.  Frederic L. Taylor

i just ran across a shop drawing in e. handbergs book, shop drawings of shaker furniture.  it is a comination piece with apothecary type drawers on the bottom and a cabinet on top.  the drawers were interesting.  went from large at the bottom to small at the top and also increased in number across the width as they progressed upwards.  a nice piece.  the book was a larger than the 3 numbered smaller paperbacks and i believe it was the last one published maybe around 1973.  i think he died in '75.  no matter, i thought of this thread and that maybe the bottom with the drawers could be made without the accompanying cabinet.
