Brannam, a friend of mine, mentioned SAW. Website is sacramentoareawoodworkers.com . Also, not central valley, but interesting is diablowoodworkers.com The are in the Bay Area. As you go further north there are some serious fine woodworking in the North Coast area.
After I retired I started woodworking and really enjoy the groups on several levels including seeing the work of others, and the educational opportunities they offer.
