Fairfax, VA Woodworkers
I'm wondering if there is any interest in a woodworking club located in Fairfax, VA. Something on the Route 28 side of the county.
I know there's the Virginia Woodworkers in Springfield, but that's a painful drive in afternoon traffic.

Hi,
I would be interested. I live off of Stringfellow Rd and Rt. 50. I have just gotten interested in woodworking in the past year or so.
Thanks, Scott

For the last couple of years I've been toying with the idea of renting a warehouse space and filling it with shop tools, a paint area, hand tools, and benches. Then selling annual memberships to hobbyists and professionals. This way the pros would utilize the space during the day and evenings could be used by hobbyists and maybe they could learn from each other.
The problem is, I don't know what the hobbyist market is like in the area. Also, would small (one man) woodworking businesses need (or want) to use a shop like this?
I'm thinking that the place would need to sell about 1000 memberships a year at $300 each to stay afloat. But is that too much for the average do it yourselfer?

Sounds like a plan. Information and technique exchanges would be helpful.
