actual wood knots
This is my first time doing this sort of thing so please bare with me. A word in the title of this site made me think of this question, so I thought I would give this a try. I started my woodworking career 40 years ago working as a cabinet maker apprentice. And found that working with wood was my true passion. At that job we started with the wood off the railroad cars, and made trim, cabinets, windows, doors, everything for a house. I had a passion for collecting knots. These were the loose knots you will find in pine boards. I stopped when I had enough to fill a 50 gallion drum. My plan was to make something with these knots. Well they are still int the drum and in good shape, I love to open it from time to time and enjoy the smell , it brings back very good memories. But my question is if any of you have an idea what I could do with these knots. 90 % of them are full knots 3/4 of an inch thick. Thanks.

You are in the classified ads section, you should post this in the regular Knots area.

Thanks for the heads up about being in the right section. As I said, this is my first attempt at this and I didn't see the regular knots area which you mentioned. I will look and see if I can reissue my message to that area. Thanks again.

Are these knots cutouts from 3/4 boards? If so you could make birdhouses and use them for the entrance. If you are talking about the holes that is.

You are right about using the board with the knots removed for a bird house. That would be a great solution. But it is the actual knot that I am talking about . But thanks for the idea, I will look for boards with loose knots to use for that purpous .
