wood for sale (post #169467)

Hi there,

This is for those in the Montreal area.  I'm not involved at all.  Just passing it along.

He delivers too!  I'm sure there is a limit to how far he'll go.  I bought some.  He had to drive 45 minutes to get to me.  Very satisfied for the price.  Unbelievable really.  The are some knots and "imperfections" but we all just cut around those anyway.

imperfections (post #169467, reply #1 of 2)

Dan, I take it you are just joking when talking about cutting around those imperfections and knots in our wood.  If "knot", you are trully missing creating some of the most beautiful wood tone, swirls and radiant rays of grain imagineable.  When I build a piece, I look for those natural imperfections that when finished just makes it look special, not like formica.

I agree with the use of imperfections such as knots and voids in the boards I use. I like working with Red Cedar because I think the knots add a certain class to the project. The only imperfections I shy away from are cracks from the edge of a board but small cracks in the center so to speak can be sealed and give a one of a kind look to a project.Try it sometime.
