Bermuda Cedar
While visiting family in Bermuda i was asked to go through the hobby shop of my wife's late grandfather. Being the only woodworker in the family and seeing some of the equipment and material in the shop from past visits was a real treat. The biggest thrill came when i discovered some incredable Bermuda cedar lumber tucked away in a corner. So far,I have pulled out 5 pieces; 8 ft. long by 23 inchs across. The thickness is between 3 and 4 quarter. There seems to be quite a bit more more that i haven't gotten to yet. Unfortunatly for me, the cost of shipping this wood back to Canada prevents me from utilizing this amazing find.I am therefore attempting to determine a price and gauge how much interest there would be from off the island before I find a home for this extremely rare and beautiful lumber within Bermuda on behalf of my wife's family. If anyone can make an offer or provide information reguarding shipping costs and importing regulations i would be interested in talking. I have pictures but will not be able to provide them untill we are back home on the 13th.

Hello. Here are some pics of the cedar. The largest boards are about 8 ft. x 23" and almost all of the roughly 98 bd. ft. is skipped dressed to 3/4".They are all straight and have been stored in a garage for at least 25 yrs. Some are highly figured and others are straight and clear. There is also some Honduras Mahogany; 16 ft x16" x4/4 rough. Are you in Bermuda?

I have spoken to the father in law and it looks like he has decided to keep the wood for his own use. .
