Looking for Serious Amateur Woodworker to Share a New Workshop in Brooklyn NY

margolisman's picture

I am a former semi-professional - now serious amateur - woodworker with a full time job in another profession.

I would like to open a small (1,000sf) woodworking shop with one other person of similar skill in an industrial building in Brooklyn or Manhattan.  This would be a share of costs of the space rental (and utilities and insurance), and I would share major tools which I own or will acquire.  I envision each of us having separate bench space, and you will need to bring your own small tools and equipment for your use.

I have a few leads on possible spaces, but the cost of space in NYC makes it very difficult to do alone.  The cost to you would probably be in the range of $1,000/month, and the commitment would need to be for several years.  I will probably only work a few nights a week and on the weekends, so maybe this works well for your schedule.

This is still an idea I am working out, so feel free to comment and help me out.  If you are interested, please contact me directly at dmargolis@tsltec.com

Thanks.
